At least 25 Palestinians lost their lives in Gaza following Israeli airstrikes on Friday, according to medical officials.
The fatalities included at least eight individuals in an apartment within the Nuseirat refugee camp and ten others—seven of whom were children—in Jabalia.
There are 10 martyrs … all targeted by an airstrike on their home in Jabalia al-Nazla, southwest of Jabalia. All of the martyrs are from the same family, including seven children, the oldest aged six.
Civil defence agency spokesperson Mahmud Bassal told Vivid Voice News.
Bassal said the strike injured 15 other people.
Efforts to broker a ceasefire between Israel and the Hamas-led administration have yet to yield results after over a year of hostilities.
Sources close to the negotiations revealed to Vivid Voice News on Thursday that mediators from Qatar and Egypt had resolved some disagreements but key issues remained unresolved.
Israel’s military campaign began on October 7, 2023, following attacks by Hamas fighters on Israeli territories.
According to Israeli reports, the assault resulted in 1,200 deaths and over 250 hostages being taken.
While Israel claims approximately 100 hostages are still held, the number of those alive remains uncertain.
Authorities in Gaza report that the Israeli offensive has caused more than 45,000 fatalities and displaced the majority of the 2.3 million residents.
The destruction has left much of the region in devastation.
