BOMET, KENYA — The Tach Asis area of Konoin, Bomet County, is in deep mourning following the alleged beheading of two young children, aged 2 and 7, by their 35-year-old father.
According to Bomet County Police Commandant Edward Imbwaga, the suspect, identified as Geoffrey Kipkemoi, is believed to have used a kitchen knife to commit the heinous act.
Reports indicate that the deceased children’s bodies were found in the kitchen after the incident.
A police report detailed that the suspect’s wife was not present at their residence at the time of the alleged crime.
Upon her return, she made the devastating discovery after following bloodstains that led her to the kitchen, at which point she immediately notified the authorities.
Police officers promptly responded to the scene, conducted forensic processing, and recovered what is believed to be the murder weapon.
The bodies of the two children were subsequently transported to Kapkatet Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination.
The suspect, Geoffrey Kipkemoi, was apprehended and is currently in police custody.
Investigations into the tragic incident are ongoing.
